Terms of Service
Last updated 7 August 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and GuideOps Platform, Inc., a Delaware corporation (“GuideOps”, “we”), covering the GuideOps applications and services (the “Service”). By creating an account you accept them.
Safety, and no reliance
GuideOps is a recording and communication tool. It is not an avalanche forecast, not a safety device, and not a substitute for training, experience, judgment, or the official public bulletin for your area. Nothing produced by the Service — including AI-drafted observations, briefings, summaries, hazard values, and answers to questions — may be relied upon for life-safety decisions. Data may be incomplete, delayed, mis-entered by another person, or wrong. Backcountry travel carries a risk of serious injury and death. That risk is yours, and it remains yours whatever this software displays.
AI output
The Service uses AI to turn what you record into structured observations and written briefings. Every such output is a draft awaiting human review. It can be incorrect or incomplete. You are responsible for reviewing anything before you approve it, and for everything you submit onward to InfoEx or any other party under your name.
Accounts and operations
An account belongs to a person. An operation is the workspace that holds your zones, observations and reports. Whoever creates an operation is its owner and may invite others into it and set their roles. If you are an owner or admin, you are responsible for who you admit, for what your members do in the operation, and for removing people who should no longer have access. Keep your credentials to yourself; tell us at support@guideops.app if you think an account has been compromised.
Subscriptions, trials, and billing
- Independent Guide — $49.95 USD per season (one year), one guide.
- Guide Operation — $249.95 USD per season (one year), unlimited guides in one operation.
Both plans begin with a 30-day free trial. A payment method is required to start it. Nothing is charged during the trial; on day 31 the subscription begins and the plan price is charged to your payment method, then once a year until you cancel. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax we are required to collect. If you pay from outside the United States, Stripe may show and charge the equivalent in your local currency at its exchange rate on the day, which can differ from the US dollar figure above.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your card number. You can cancel at any time by emailing support@guideops.app. Cancelling during the trial means you are never charged. Cancelling afterwards ends the subscription at the close of the period you have already paid for; we do not pro-rate refunds for a partial season. We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice by email, effective at your next renewal.
Your data
Your observations, photos, recordings, zones and reports are yours. You grant us only the licence needed to run the Service: to store, process, back up and display that content to you and to the people you have admitted to your operation, and to send it to a third party when you explicitly approve that submission. We do not sell your data and we do not use your content to train AI models. You can request an export or a deletion at any time by emailing privacy@guideops.app.
Acceptable use
- Do not upload content you have no right to share, or another operation’s data.
- Do not attempt to reach an operation you are not a member of, or probe the Service’s security.
- Do not misrepresent an observation, or submit deliberately false information onward.
- Do not resell or sublicense access to the Service.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, or that goes unpaid, and we will tell you why.
Availability
The Service is in early access. There is no uptime commitment. We may change, interrupt or withdraw features, and we will give reasonable notice before removing something you depend on. Because capture works offline and syncs later, a service outage should not stop you recording a day in the field.
Limitation of liability
The Service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits or lost data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
Changes
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will email you before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new terms.
